BARCELONA, Spain (AP) - Barcelona moved to the top of the Primera Liga on Saturday after a 1-0 home win over Villarreal on Saturday.
Barca's attacking offensive elements are in the lead. Argentina's Lionel Messi scored twice and Brazilian Neymar and Uruguayan Luis Suarez scored a goal against Villarreal.
At the Nou Camp, Neymar opened the scoring for Barcelona in the 21st minute and Cedric Pacampo equalized for Villarreal in the 32nd minute, before Messi added the second goal to Barcelona in the 45th minute.
In the second half, Suarez boosted Barca's lead with a third goal in the 69th minute before Messi ended the scoring with a second goal in the 82nd minute.
Barca, who have a three-point lead over Real Madrid, are now up to 84 points. Real have a game in hand, while Villarreal have 63 points in fifth.
Messi also raised his score of Barcelona goals in all competitions this season to 51 goals.
